I rarely am in the driver’s seat on my commute to Bastrop. Last Thursday I rode up with my mom and Wrigley and Leila and took a moment to snap a shot of the beauty of the westbound Texas highway.
I almost thought I didn’t have a photo this week. I’ve taken hundreds of photos over the past week, but they were all for our store. I didn’t even try to take a bluebonnet photo while we were in Bastrop last weekend. Then I found this. While I was snapping photos around the store, I paused. This photo sits atop a candle display at the front. I never knew my dad’s mom. This was taken of him with her while she was weaving a rug. A rug his mother wove is one of the few belongings my dad brought with him when he moved to the United States. I love that we have this photo. I am grateful I took a moment to capture it.
